[dropcap]M[/dropcap]y website looks different? Well it’s not – I’m not sure why you think that. Just kidding, it’s different. I decided to do a self project of renovating my website! It was much needed. It didn’t feel complete and after much thought I decided why. For a while, I felt my website was acting as more of a burden than a benefit. I felt it was flat and boring; all I did was upload pictures from professional shoots that I was doing. After much thought I finally decided what was bothering me was that my website didn’t have me in it. Yes it had my pictures and artwork, but that was it. I didn’t feel I was connecting with anyone and it was a large disconnect that I did not like. I wasn’t motivated to upload content regularly and so I knew I needed to change something.
I decided to combine my personal blog and portfolio together. I realize that many people will disagree and say that I shouldn’t combine them both, but honestly I don’t really care. I don’t want to hide who I am and my own life from others because I’m not ashamed of it. It is who I am. My personal blog was pretty related to my visual blog so it’s not that crazy that I decided to combine them. I have especially felt that I need to share the gospel using my talents and have been thinking that I should do so on my website. My faith is also a part of me and I want to share that.
Adding on to that, for about a year now, I have felt that I needed to put a store up on my website. I wanted to do something that worked with my website and so I did some research and found a theme and store that would work with what I wanted.
I spent aproximately 20 hours on this project. It took a bit of time but I’m glad I did it. This is definitely a huge benefit to me as I am hoping from this “fall” cleaning and renovating of my website will motivate me to manage it better. I hope that it can become more of a stress reliever rather than a burden.
And I hope that you can enjoy my website and that it can inspire you somehow, someway. Let’s be friends!
Here’s a sneak peak of my store! Check it out here.
