For my Digital Imaging class at my university, we had to do a project where we chose something to give a tutorial on. I love Photography and Photoshop so I wanted to do something with them combined. I researched some different ideas of what I could do and I wanted to find something that I hadn’t tried before. I then came across this tutorial on this site and had seen this before and thought it was really neat. So I decided to try it out for myself. It’s actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it and it can be pretty addicting.
Basically, you are creating your own planet using a panorama! It looks so cool when it’s all said and done and you will find yourself looking at what pictures you can take for a panorama. It’s a lot of fun and you can even try to inverse it for another cool effect (follow all the steps the same way except just don’t rotate the canvas 180˚).
Here is what it will look like in the end:
Pretty neat, huh?
Try it for yourself! I created a PDF with the steps to follow, but if you would rather follow a video, then I made one of those, too. Let me know how it works for you! Good luck!

First of all, I am really impressed that you got the video under the time limit haha. I actually had to use this panoramic tutorial from another video, so I know that this video is useful. I thought that it was a good idea to just use the crop tool to not deal with the lines from content aware. I wonder how this tutorial would work with people in it. Great job Nicole!
This is so cool! I definitely need to spend some quality time with Photoshop learning all these cool techniques. I know we were under a time constraint, but it would be awesome if you could do a longer video for later. I felt like the instructions were a bit rushed, but overall your explanations were great.
I found this tutorial very interesting. A very creative idea. I did not even know that these tools existed. Thanks!
This is such a neat effect! I can see how this would have a lot of uses, especially for group photos, or just any creative panorama. Very useful, and I’m impressed that you got this all done under the time limit too!
This is so awesome. I never saw this type of panorama before this semester. It is super creative and a good idea. Thanks for showing us how to do this!
I love this idea! It is something I have never seen before this semester. Thank you for posting this, I love your photography!
Thanks Nicole! I love using the panoramic tool. There are so many great applications to using the photomerge. I never knew about the spinning tool. It looks kind of like a island.
