This week I worked on my infographic for my Advanced Visual Media course. I decided to do my infographic on Tornadoes. Partly because my hometown, Joplin, Missouri, was hit by one of the worst tornadoes in history back in 2011. So I wanted to do an infographic that talked about different things that pertain to tornadoes. I put in some information in an online infographic generator just to see how it worked. There are some nice websites that allow you to create infographics, but I’m excited to have my own control and be able to use Illustrator for the final product.
I worked on some sketches this week by coming up with a bunch of words that come to mind when we think about Tornadoes. Then I sketched those words on paper. I also sketched an outline of how I think I want to layout my infographic. This is what I came up with.
