For my Digital Imaging class, I had to pick an image and then print a large format poster of it. This is the image that I chose to print. I love shooting portraits and the thing that I really liked from this image was the gorgeous back lighting the setting of the sun gave me. It was so beautiful and the glow on her hair is priceless. That’s why I chose this image to print and I feel that it turned out nicely. To edit it, increased the contrast, added a slight vignette, and added a Lightroom preset to change the color scheme. I also edited her face by smoothing it out and sharpening her eyes and mouth. I masked out some distracting features in the background as well.
This was a great learning experience for me because I haven’t really dealt with printing large format images before. I learned how to make sure that it will turn out sharp and that my measurements were all correct and what they needed to be. I enjoyed this project and even had fun picking out a frame that matched the image. I think that I might do this more often because now it is not so intimidating.
