I had the opportunity to go to Bannack, Montana this last week with my Digital Imaging class. It is an old ghost town and it was such a blast! I loved it so much. There were all of these old buildings that we got to go in and tour and snap pictures. It was an all day thing so we were taking pictures for hours upon hours – let’s just say my wrist, finger, eye, and feet were pretty sore by the end of the day! It was so worth it, though.
I had so much fun here and I took so many pictures! It was hard to choose my favorites. All of these images were edited in Lightroom by doing just the basics – increasing the contrast, saturation, adding a vignette and lighting the subjects. I then brought the images into Photoshop to do some more specific edits. For some of these images, I used a continuous light to help give it a more pop. I was able to try some new photography tricks such as HDR and Light Painting. I will be posting some of those in future posts, so stay tuned!
For now, here are some portraits from the excursion. We were able to bring models that dressed up in the old western attire which really helped add to the portraits and their atmosphere.
