About Nicole

by Nicole

Hello!

The name is Nicole and I am an aspiring photographer, designer, and artist. I love everything about the visual arts. I am particularly drawn to the beauty around me in this world as well as creating beauty with what I see. I started this blog as an outlet for my creative work. It has grown into another extension of me and my life. I hope that you can find inspiration and beauty when looking at my work (and random thoughts).

Meet The Girl Behind The Camera/Computer/Cat

I thought I’d let you get to know me aside from the obvious. Well I am a twenty-three year old college graduate (what?) who is trying to enjoy life. I figured you might want to know a little bit about the girl behind the blog so I came up with some questions that I think you may be asking…

Where did you go to college and what did you study?

Brigham Young University – Idaho (BYU-Idaho) and absolutely LOVED it. Best decision to this day that I’ve made. I got my Bachelor’s in Visual Communications.

What is your ultimate dream for your career?

My dream is to be able to travel the world, take pictures, design cool stuff, and become a motivational speaker at workshops and conferences (okay, yes by conferences I’m kinda referring to Photoshop World. That would be so rad.)

What makes you tick aside from the visual arts?

Oh man, too many things. You ready?

Why don’t you just focus on one visual skill instead of so many different ones?

Honestly, I can’t. It’s not me. My whole major consisted of all these skills. I chose it because I wanted to be more well-rounded. I seriously love learning new skills and expressing myself through different mediums. I thrive off of creativity. I am not happy if I focus my efforts in one area. I don’t feel satisfied. For my senior project in my undergrad degree, I did something in regards to this. I created this website from scratch using HTML and CSS to explain the project. It was titled Pursue Your Passion, Not Your Misery.

Are you religious?

Definitely. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) and love every part of it. It has shaped me into who I am. I know that God lives and that He loves and knows me. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He died for me so that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father again. Having Christ’s full gospel in my life is the greatest joy that I can have and I would be ungrateful if I didn’t share it with others. So expect to see my faith intermingled with my work. It’s who I am. It’s what I believe. It’s me.

Is there anything that we readers should be aware of about you?

I’m obsessed with cats, Gilmore Girls reruns, and Dreyer’s How I Love Thee Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ice cream. I thrive off of new adventures and I sometimes talk in my sleep.
